John
8:34, “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin."
Spiritual
slavery is real and cruel. Romans 5:19, “For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall
many be made righteous.” Because of Adam's disobedience, we were all
born into sin. Because of Jesus obedience, we can be set free. Freedom
from this bondage is found in Jesus Christ. He has opened the door
for all who will rise up and walk out in faith, believing what He did
on the cross for us.
With
this freedom comes revelation or understanding of what Paul was
talking about in Romans 8:18, "For I reckon that the sufferings
of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory
which shall be revealed in us." Amen!
It's
really not about us...it’s about Eternity! It's not about us in the
respect of what I want or think I may need. It is about my surrender
to the one who created me and His plan to rescue me from Hell. It's
not about how I feel or if things go my way or not. Remember we can't
even begin to compare the sufferings of this present word against the
Glory that will be revealed in us!
It's
about enduring (whatever) till the end. It's about being delivered
from the bonds of spiritual death. Freedom does not mean there are no
struggles. It means we shall live and not die. We shall live forever
with Him in His Kingdom.
Yes,
spiritual slavery is real. Many are suffering and causing others to
suffer because of its hold on them. This does not have to be! No one
has to die a spiritual death because of sin and its bondage.
John
8:36, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be
free indeed.”
