Have
you lived at this address recently? ll Corinthians 4:8, “ We are
troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not
in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not
destroyed;...17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things
which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but
the things which are not seen are eternal.” Amen!
All
Christians will suffer something at some point. We live in a fallen
world and sometimes the prince of the world (Satan) will throw you a
curve ball just when you feel forsaken by a friend or loved one. You
know, those days when the unexpected comes...like the central unit
can't be fixed any longer and you need to get a new one...or when the
nail in the tire can't be fixed and this calls for 2 new tires...when
the doctor says your A1c is just not good enough and you need meds.
We all have those days of trouble but take note we are not in
despair, not forsaken, not destroyed. These things are light
afflictions and sometimes they can bring something good to our lives.
For one thing they keep us humble if we allow them too. They also
help us to see the hand of God and how he makes a way when we think
there is no way. These things we go through are preparing us for the
road ahead to help make us stronger and more confident in Jesus
Christ. We need to keep our focus on those things that are eternal.
They are what is important!
