Do
you ever feel that you are disconnected from God? By virtue of our
beginning, we are the creation of God. We are created to walk in
intimate communion with our creator. Thereby, we are connected to Him
who created us in love and who is all sufficient in all things to
care for us. Through faith in Him, we are sanctified (set apart from
the world). Heb. 10:10, “By the which will we are sanctified
through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Through faith in Christ we are regenerated (restored to sinless
state). Titus 3:5, “Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” And through the
saving grace of the cross we are justified (just as if we never
sinned). Ephesians 2:16, “Knowing that a man is not justified by
the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have
believed in Jesus Christ,..” Therefore, we must conclude that
through Jesus' sacrifice we are restored to the relationship God had
with man before the fall.
Why
is that so important? The blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ reconnected
us to God. When we confess our sin and believe that by virtue of His
sacrifice He will forgive our sin, we are reconnected to God through
Christ. Consequently, God wants to walk with us in intimate
relationship in the same sense that He walked with Adam in the garden
before man’s disobedience. We can walk in renewed fellowship with
sin forgiven and renewed status in the family of God.
God’s
intention is that His Holy Spirit is our counselor, comfort, rock,
strong tower, mighty fortress, deliverer, provider, healer and
everything else we need. “But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus,” Phil. 4:19.
I
want to note two very important factors in the relationship between
God and Adam. 1)There was continued communication between them.
2)Obedience to God's instructions was absolute. When these two
principles are observed, our spiritual man and our physical man are
perfectly joined together. Therefore, there is no disconnect between
God and a born again follower of Jesus Christ!
