It
is expedient that we have the constant nurture and admonition of the
Lord in our lives. We must have His Word fresh from the throne of God
to empower and direct in our struggles today. We need the infusion of
His power and might into our present battles. We must have the
presence of the Holy Spirit to provide wisdom and courage for today’s
decisions.
How
shall we proceed? What are the solutions to the problems we currently
face and the issues we will face in the future? We must look to the
Lord Jesus Christ to receive the direction we so desperately need!
The Bible tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace and make our
petitions known to God through our mediator, Jesus Christ.
Hebrews
4:14, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched
with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted
like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto
the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help
in time of need.”
How
can we come boldly before the throne of God? Because Jesus is our
Advocate and is pleading our case to the Father. He is our “great
high priest” and continually makes intercession for us by the Holy
Spirit. Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our
infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but
the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.” Even when we don’t know how to pray, the
Spirit prays for us according to the will of God.
How
do we know that God cares? Because Jesus our “great high priest”
feels our pain! He left His throne in glory, came to earth in the
form of mortal man, was tested in every way we could ever be tested
and did so without sin. He understands our human condition and is
moved with compassion “with the feelings of our infirmities.”
How
can we trust the promise God has made to us? Because of who He is!
Psalm 24:1,”The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the
world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the
seas, and established it upon the floods. 3 Who shall ascend into the
hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that
hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul
unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing
from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O
Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye
everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this
King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting
doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of
glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”
Take
me to the King of glory that I may trust Him with all my heart! Take
Me To The King!
