Jeremiah
8:20, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not
saved.”
Jeremiah
lamented the future state of Judah! He saw through the prophetic that
they would languish in sorrow as a people who had failed to reap the
spring or summer harvest. God had presented them with the opportunity
to repent and return to His provision but they insisted upon holding
to their false gods. They had to make a decision and that decision
would determine their future.
Much
in the same way, I lament the future state our nation and our world
seeing that mankind as a whole has refused the gift of grace in Jesus
Christ. What does the immediate future hold for the world, our
nation, the Church and each individual? God alone knows what is ahead
and only He can position us where we really need to be. However, we
must come to Him now in repentance and submit our will to His.
Where
Do We Go From Here? The choices and decisions we make now will
determine where we go in the coming days and the impact we will have
on the world around us. “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and
then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and
look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John
4:35
