Where Do We Go From Here?

As I observe the current conditions in our world, I am stirred in my spirit with a renewed desire to sound the alarm and call all men to be accountable before our Creator. Many are living their lives today as if they are not accountable to anyone. However, the Bible tells us that the deeds of this life will follow us into eternity. Ecclesiastes 12:14, “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

How does this declaration of Judgment fall upon us in this late hour? It all depends on our response to the call of Christ. Where do we stand in obedience to the commission of the Lord Jesus Christ? Are we concerned with our liturgical duties and the ritualistic process of religion? Or, are we concerned about having a real and intimate relationship with our living, loving Savior? Our future is determined by our response!

Jeremiah lamented the future state of Judah in Jeremiah 8:20, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” He saw through the prophetic that they would languish in sorrow as a people who had failed to reap the spring or summer harvest. God had presented them with the opportunity to repent and return to His provision but they insisted upon holding to their false gods. They had to make a decision and that decision would determine their future.

Much in the same way, I lament the future state our nation and our world seeing that mankind as a whole has refused the gift of grace in Jesus Christ. What does the immediate future hold for the world, this nation, the Church and each individual? God alone knows what is ahead and only He can position us where we really need to be. However, we must come to Him now in repentance and submit our will to His.

Where am I in relation to where he wants me to be? Do I hear His “still small voice,” or am I so easily distracted by the extraneous noises of the world that I miss part of the message. It is expedient that we hear and receive His directive without delay. We do not have the luxury of “wasted time.” Each moment is precious as eternal souls hang in the balance.

Where Do We Go From Here? The choices and decisions we make now, will determine where we go in the coming days and the impact we will have on the world around us. “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35
