We
are told in the Word..."But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His
Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you," Matthew 6:33.
You know "all these things" that we all pursue regularly,
jobs, so we can pay our bills, buy food, have shelter, and wear clothes. We all
desire clean, organized homes with a great meal prepared for the family in the
evening. Not to forget the beautiful lawn with flowers and a nice, clean car to
drive. Then there is entertainment and relaxation because we are
exhausted by the end of the day. These things are not wrong, but they can lead
us on a collision course if we are not careful. We usually come to a quick STOP
and then we cry out, "Lord, where are You? Come and come quickly because
we are in great need of YOU. Lord, we need YOU, not tomorrow but right now.”
I
have heard people say, "God has GOT to do something" and do it
quickly. But remember, He is giving us the formula in Matthew 6:33. Even with
following the formula, bad things can still happen to anyone, but during those
times we KNOW He is "working all things for our good" because we are
His. We have not forgotten "that no weapon formed against us shall
prosper." We hold to every promise
in the book because they belong to us as God's Children.
I saw a post with someone speaking about giving ourselves an option. When you set your clock, you can set it with the snooze control, which gives you an option to either get up or lie there until the next alarm goes off. He said the Lord spoke to his heart and said, "As long as you have an option, you will use it." But with God, we do not need to think we have an option. It must be Jesus first and foremost in our lives. Our desire must be to Seek Him First. The other things will come.
