Isaiah
40:28, “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the
LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and
to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall
faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as
eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
The
army of Christ is rising up. Rising up in the mantle of Jesus Christ. That
mantle is the manifest presence of Christ in the Holy Ghost. If you have
received since you believed, you carry the mantel of Christ. I feel the urging
of the Holy Spirit calling upon the Body of Christ to rise up in the power of
that mantel and do His work. What is that work? To proclaim the gospel for the
salvation of souls.
Acts
1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Jesus’ promise here is to
provide the power and resources to accomplish His mission to proclaim the
Gospel in all the earth. The power that He has, He is making available to His
Church. Matt. 28:18, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” The power
comes with the commission!
If
we will accept the commission, then we have the promise. The gates of hell
cannot prevail against the Body of Christ. Why? Because we are covered in
Christ's mantel. We are filled with His Holy Spirit! Matt. 16:17, “And Jesus
answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and
blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I
say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my
church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Jesus had asked
His disciples, “...Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Peter’s reply was
“...Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Peter had understood by
Divine revelation that Jesus was the Son of God. The power that is the Body of
Christ is the revelation of who He is. Therefore, by faith, His power is our
power as the Holy Ghost indwells us. The “all power” resides in the Body of
Christ and He will be with us “always, even unto the end of the world.” The
gates of hell cannot withstand the power of the resurrected, glorified, and
everlasting Son of Almighty God.
The
Devil is like a roaring lion (a wild animal) seeking to devour and destroy
everything and everyone that would proclaim salvation and freedom in Jesus
Christ. The power of the Almighty will break the chains of sin, disobedience, and rebellion. We are His servants. We stand where He stands by His power. We
will do His work and break through the enemy's fortresses. We will go into the
enemy's domain and rescue the perishing in the NAME of JESUS, the CHRIST, the
SON of the LIVING GOD!
May the Body of Christ rise up with a renewed vision of our mission. May God renew afresh the Holy Ghost fire within that compels us to share this Glorious Gospel. Let us mount up with renewed strength, renewed inspiration, and restored victory. To God be the glory forever!
