Full Of Faith! Easier Said Than Done!

We do not develop faith just because we decide that we are going to grow our faith. Faith is a process, a journey. It can be a quick trip or it may take a while for us to get, to perceive just what the Lord intends to teach us. Sometimes the revelation comes quickly in a moment of time but more often it takes a while for us to position ourselves where we can receive (accept) what God is trying to teach us.

The full scope of our journey is dependent upon our connection with God! It all begins with an honest, faithful relationship with Jesus Christ. Come to the cross and leave everything including yourself. Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

When you give everything to Jesus Christ, it becomes His property and all belongs to Him. When you give it all to Him, the battle becomes His battle. However, we must be strong in faith and leave everything there. We cannot become distressed by circumstances and attempt to take control again. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” We must place our HOPE entirely in the hands of God. It will not work any other way! That is FAITH. When we place our faith in God through Christ, then He becomes our hope.

There is something so very liberating about making someone else responsible for the challenging parts of our lives. We usually can release control of the trying times. In fact, we desire help with our challenges. But, we must also release control of the rest of our lives as well. Ex. When I was still living at home with my parents, they were responsible for my well being. They were the authority in my life. They were responsible for me in pleasant times and the challenging times. Since they were the authority in my life they were also responsible for my discipline. (continued)
