Who Is God And What Is My Understanding Of Him? Conclusion

Acts 9:1, “And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.”

Paul’s mindset made him an adversary to the very ONE that he professed to love. It is amazing how people can use their religious fervor for self-edification. That is one of the first clues that they are off course. There is no doubt that Paul pursued his vocation vigorously and as a calling from God. But, also think of the notoriety he must have received from his superiors for a job well done. The religious establishment wanted to destroy this new movement of Christianity, and Paul was their number 1 man.

Acts 9:3, “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” The beginning of Saul’s conversion to the person of Paul was when he met Jesus that day on the road to Damascus. He was going about doing his thing, but the Lord saw the person he was to become.

You may be doing your thing today, but the Lord Jesus sees the person He wants you to be. If you will hear His voice and follow Him, He will lead you in His Light. Saul saw the Light and heard His Voice, then he fell on his face before Him. He bowed in humble submission because he recognized the Sovereign presence of the Divine. He introduced Himself as “Jesus whom thou persecutest.”

If you are not following Jesus today, you are opposing Him just as Saul was. Saul changed his mindset and thinking when he met Jesus. He went on in obedience, and the Light of Heaven continued to shine on his life. The Light changed his life and gave him a new name to signify the change. He became Paul, a mighty instrument for the cause of Jesus Christ. The difference was his encounter with Christ and a greater understanding of the Lord of Glory.

Let Jesus Christ reveal Himself to you today! Allow Him to show you the King Of Glory! 

Waiting On God? by Myra Boozer

When a well-known Christian teacher was a young student himself, he was moved with compassion to buy a meal for a Mother and her hungry little child instead of himself. He walked the street that night, going back to his room with an empty stomach but a full heart. He thought since he had given to one of God's suffering ones that God would in some way provide a breakfast for him the next morning. The morning came, and all the others were eating, but he had nothing. He was a strong young man, and he was getting hungry.

This is alright, he thought, God will provide something. Maybe he would find the money on the sidewalk or get some payment for work. God would provide, but He did not. Same thing the next day, and he was getting ravenously hungry. He knew he could borrow money from a friend. He thought, “NO, I will not borrow money. I expect to be a preacher and tell people that if they do right, God will take care of them. I will see this thing through, and if God does not take care of me, I will never preach to others that God will take care of them.”

There was no lunch and no dinner on the second day. On the third day, he still believed in God and waited for his time. Toward the middle of the afternoon, one of the instructors called him aside and said, "I have received a check with directions to give this to someone who will use it wisely. I have decided to give it to you.” It was a check for 36 dollars. He bought food and some much-needed items. From that time to now, he has never passed through such a testing time as on that occasion.

We will learn many things from our heart of compassion. When we deny ourselves to help others, we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He always thought of others and not of himself to the point of laying down his life for all humanity. The moment we realize it is NOT all about us, we become a true servant of the Lord.

In times of trusting God for our needs, do we get fretful and anxious? Knowing that things are not moving along as fast as we had desired, do we just give up and seek another source? HOW LONG ARE WE WILLING TO WAIT ON GOD? The answer does not always come quickly. "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD," Psalm 27:14. 

Who Is God And What Is My Understanding Of Him?

Psalm 24:8, “Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty—he is the King of glory.”

Who is the King of Glory? Who is the Lord God Jehovah? Who is God, and what is my understanding of Him? This question comes resounding across the pages of history and has been debated by all manner of men in every generation. But, what it comes down to is, “Who is God with respect to my understanding of Him and His relevance to my life?” Life must come to that benchmark in the totality of who we are as individuals. We must settle the question in each of us! We are totally and utterly LOST until we do!

The Apostle Paul is an excellent example of one who settled the question and, in return, gathered the harvest destined for his life. However, the process was not painless or effortless. For him to settle the question of who God was to him required that he make some drastic changes.

First and foremost, Paul had to have a change in his thinking concerning God. He thought he knew God! He thought he knew the mind of God, so he threw himself into adhering to the Law. His passion was to enforce the Law of God as interpreted by the religious leaders of his time. In so doing, he placed himself in a position to diametrically oppose Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus was the answer to Israel’s prayers. He was God’s Messiah to deliver His people. This was God’s plan! Therefore, Paul’s mindset made him an adversary to the very ONE that he professed to love. Put Jesus First! by Myra Boozer

We are told in the Word..."But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you," Matthew 6:33. You know "all these things" that we all pursue regularly, jobs, so we can pay our bills, buy food, have shelter, and wear clothes. We all desire clean, organized homes with a great meal prepared for the family in the evening. Not to forget the beautiful lawn with flowers and a nice, clean car to drive. Then there is entertainment and relaxation because we are exhausted by the end of the day. These things are not wrong, but they can lead us on a collision course if we are not careful. We usually come to a quick STOP and then we cry out, "Lord, where are You? Come and come quickly because we are in great need of YOU. Lord, we need YOU, not tomorrow but right now.”

I have heard people say, "God has GOT to do something" and do it quickly. But remember, He is giving us the formula in Matthew 6:33. Even with following the formula, bad things can still happen to anyone, but during those times we KNOW He is "working all things for our good" because we are His. We have not forgotten "that no weapon formed against us shall prosper."  We hold to every promise in the book because they belong to us as God's Children.

I saw a post with someone speaking about giving ourselves an option. When you set your clock, you can set it with the snooze control, which gives you an option to either get up or lie there until the next alarm goes off. He said the Lord spoke to his heart and said, "As long as you have an option, you will use it." But with God, we do not need to think we have an option. It must be Jesus first and foremost in our lives. Our desire must be to Seek Him First. The other things will come. 

Be Filled With The Holy Ghost! Conclusion

Jesus warned His disciples about what was ahead of them. But He made provision to empower them for the task ahead. John the Baptist testified of the baptism of the Holy Ghost which would come after him and by Jesus Christ. Mark 1:7, “...There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” Jesus verified this promise in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” The promise was fulfilled in Acts 2:4, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Jesus’ promise in Acts 1:8 was not only for 1^st Century believers but is for the Body of Christ today. His promise extends to our time and to the consummation of all things. The power of the Holy Spirit will complete the mission Jesus Christ began, and whosoever will receive His message will be saved.

We must take courage and draw our strength from the Holy Spirit as He indwells us. If we ask in faith, the Father will strengthen us in the power of His Spirit. He will give us the power to face the enemy of our souls with faith and determination to see the restoration of His power in the churches. We must pray that He will create a hunger in each of us for a renewal of Pentecost in our congregations. I pray that God will make us hungry for Pentecostal restoration that will change our families, move our communities, and affect entire nations. We desperately need God’s intervention. May we be able to pray, “I desire Your intervention, Oh God, have mercy upon us!” Be Full Of The Holy Ghost! 

Anointed For A Mission! by Myra Boozer

Do you feel you are here on planet Earth with a purpose? Or, do you feel you are just floating through with ease and comfort with a don't disturb sign hanging on your heart? What wakes you up in the morning? Is it a prayer on your heart for someone or something you might do to make this world a little easier or a little brighter? Or, is it where is my coffee? Where is my easy chair in life? Don't look at me! Don't talk to me! Don't expect to get a response from me because I am already spoken for. Life is a breeze, and my mission is "Me." I hope not!

The Bible (the greatest book on earth) teaches us that we are not our own. We have been bought with a price, the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Our "mission," like Jesus, is to do the will of the Father...all that He has laid out in His book, written by Holy men as they were inspired by the Holy Ghost.

I have been thinking of my mission as God's child, my husband's wife, my son's mother, my grand's Nana, my family's relative, my neighbor's neighbor, my church family’s spiritual relative, my lost world's watchman. Wow, this is a big responsibility, and I come up short in being all I need to be for these people. But, I am coming more and more to the understanding that I can not always be what is needed or expected of me. However, I can maintain my relationship with God and let His love flow through me so that I can be filled with His Spirit and His Love...So that my MISSION is His MISSION with His ANOINTING. Whatever your mission, let God be your source, and you will be Anointed For His Mission!

Psalm 27:1, “...The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” 

Be Filled With The Holy Ghost!

Acts 9:17, “And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.”

The period of time that is just ahead will challenge our faith, our determination, and our spiritual tenacity. Our mission is to publish the Gospel in all the world. That mission will be successful collectively as the Church. God has made provision and guaranteed that Jesus’ commission, that the Church go into all the world and preach the Gospel, will absolutely be achieved.

However, if we are to enjoy success in our quest to fulfill God’s plan in our individual lives, we must be full of the Holy Ghost. The message of the Gospel will continue to be met with increasing resistance and opposition from the powers of darkness. The enemy is pulling out all stops, unleashing inconceivable wickedness, perverseness, and unholy terror in all the world. The buffer and the counterbalance to this onslaught of darkness and horror is the power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit. Be filled with the Holy Spirit! (continued)
