The Enemy Of Your Soul!

John 10:7, “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Our enemy is Satan, the ruler of darkness. He is the thief which comes to steal, kill and destroy. We must recognize his schemes and resist the onslaught of darkness which is enveloping this world. We must resist him with all the strength that God gives us, resist him and he must flee from us. James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

The conflict of good and evil has been around since man's rebellion in the Garden of Eden. We have only to read our history to see the ebb and flow of this war. The world climate has not come to its present state overnight. Through a process of years of devaluing human life, indifference to Biblical morals and disrespect for Divine virtues, the enemy has brought us to where we are as a civilization. He has slowly penetrated every level of human life and had his way with little or no resistance. Consequently, he has destroyed empires, governments, states, churches and families. His goal is to control every facet of life on this earth.

The enemy has slipped in unaware. It has seemed to be little things but they have become great things. Little things like taking prayer and Bible reading out of schools because it offended a small minority. Little things like a failure to take a public stand for the right under the Constitution to express our faith in the public arena. But it is a great thing. Slowly but surely the enemy has sought to silence the cry for truth and justice. It is a great thing to take the life of an unborn child. Their innocent blood is crying out to each and every generation, “where is truth and justice?” How can the leadership of this country, those who are directly responsible for these heinous crimes, invoke the name of God? How can they look out over a public gathering and declare “God bless America?” They are heartless, cold and calculating men and women with no feeling for the loss of innocent lives. Do you think God is going to overlook such egregious behavior? He didn't give a pass to the Israelites when they offered their own children on the alter of sacrifice with the Canaanites. Neither will He give this nation, any nation or any people a pass either!

The call is to return to God and repent of our indifference to His leading. We must return to Biblical morals and God’s Divine principles for living life. Only then can we escape the Enemy of Our Souls!

Thankful For Joy! by Myra Boozer

Thankful for JOY...the joy of the Lord is my strength. The more thankful I am for what I have the more joy comes into my life. It is the simple things in life that have been my treasures for many years. I am not ashamed of this because God gave me this contentment.

Seems like all my life, whether a hand me down dress when I was young or finding discarded items that the neighbors no longer needed, I gave thanks for those things. I used to think God had me at the right place at the right time to find what someone thought useless and threw away...with my name on it!

God gave me the ability to find great joy in what others would shake off their feet...sorta like my Father God. He made us from the dust of the ground and he finds great joy in us. He sings over us, we are His delight, His prize and He wants to spend eternity with us. I believe He is saying, “I found you when you were cast aside, thrown away by sin, discarded and useless to the world. But, you are my greatest find today. I will make something beautiful of your life.” He is amazing!

When we have the joy of the Lord, when we know we are His treasure, we find contentment in the things He provides. There is no more anxiety to experience the "must have " that many seek today. They are searching and never finding, unless they find the Joy of the Lord. It is this strength that will carry us day by day. Jesus has fulfilled my longings and given me a deep settled peace and joy beyond measure...I am Thankful for HIS JOY...

Grace For Grace! by Myra Boozer

I found a devotion that I wrote several years ago from John 1:16-17, "And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace, For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Thank you God for sending your Son Jesus. Thank you that things have changed. We no longer struggle to conform to the law. Because of Jesus we have been covered by Grace and He has written His laws in our hearts that we might not sin against God. Lord your ways and your truths are so strong and mighty and worth seeking.

Everyday I can share in your Banquet of Grace. Love, Forgiveness and Healing are all provided and so much more. When we come humbly before you we receive all your provisions. It is only thru my Faith in You that I eat from your table of Grace.

Thank you for this "grace upon grace." It flows down from the Father of Light. It is shining in the darkness but many are not seeing His Light. They are not comprehending it.

John 3: 18-19, "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth NOT is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. For this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men LOVED darkness rather than light, because their deeds were EVIL." KJV

The word says in John 3:15 " That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.” So glad that "whosoever" included me!

I Can Hear The Music! by Myra Boozer

Lord, this world is so cruel and wicked. When I'm trying to find my way, I am reminded of how blessed I am to have you as my guide, for I would truly be lost and confused.

You know all the crooks and turns, the hills, the valleys and ledges. I trust you Lord to lead me in the way you have chosen, paths that lead to everlasting life and to be at home with you.

Lord, to live in your BIG house will be everything I could ever hope for. Your house is so pure, bright and lovely with every aroma of your love and truth permeating the air.

Lord, I can hear the music and laughter as it drifts down the hallways. I can see the beautiful children dressed in white with flowers in their hair and their bare feet free. They are running to the green meadows to pick the newly bloomed flowers for their Moms.

There are young people with smiles, who once couldn't smile because of so much heartbreak. The pain that shut them down has been cast away and there are no more tears, no more pain.

The elderly have been reunited with their loved ones and no one is old and feeble but strong and happy.

I long for your promise to be fulfilled that where YOU are WE can be also...

Lord, I humbly ask you, even as David did...see if there be some wicked way in me and help me to purge it from my life. Help me to be the faithful and profitable servant that would be worthy to live in the HOME you have gone to prepare.

Prayer For Intimacy With God!

Father, I pray for the Church, the Body of Christ, all of us. Help us to hear what You are saying to the Church. Create within us a renewed desire to walk in intimacy with You. Bring us so close that the wind of Your Spirit cannot pass between us except we are aware of what You are doing in the Body. Father, we must have Your direction and instruction. Push back the darkness that clouds our minds and thoughts and prevents us from walking fully in Your light. Burn away the fog of deception with the fire of Your Holy Spirit in our presence. Lead us forward into Your Divine plan for each of us and collectively as the Body of Christ. Shine Your Light upon our path that we can see clearly the way You have chosen for us. Help us each one to find our place and serve with renewed passion. Create that passion in us as we submit to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Empower us to share Your message in the anointing of Your Spirit. Break the chains that prevent us from seeing total victory. Create within us an insatiable hunger for renewal and spiritual awakening. Father God, send Your Holy Ghost fire among us. Baptize us afresh in Your Pentecostal power. Father breathe upon us once again. Breathe Your life into this breathless, hopeless mortal body. Quicken us with Your Life giving Spirit. Cause cloven tongues of fire to rest upon us yet once more. Thank you, Jesus! Stir the burning embers of our past experience that they may break into a full blaze of present revival fire. Send Your fire Lord and prepare us to receive Him when He comes! I ask in the Name of Jesus! Amen."

He Is Always Near! by Myra Boozer

When I walk by the wayside, He is along with me...Amid all my forgetfulness of Him, He never forgets me.” Thomas Chalmers

Oh the days that I look for Him, the days I think, where are you Lord? I cry out to him, please come and fill my longings and let me know you are here. I wish I could remember that He is always near and never leaves me, but trouble over takes me and my heart begins to break. Just for a moment my forgetfulness rises up and I too despair as Peter did over the stormy weather. Peter was walking on the water to Jesus! Wow, but the winds were overwhelming to his mind. He must have actually forgotten the miracle that was happening right under his feet.

Matthew 14:28-31, "And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come and when Peter was come down out of the ship he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. BUT when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying Lord, save me." KJV

How many times is God making a way when there seems to be no way? But one puff of wind from the evil one blows us right off track. We must be like Peter and CRY out in despair, "LORD save me." We must never forget that He is ever near when the enemy starts howling and putting up a fight. We must have our mind centered on Jesus and remember that he never changes. "For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13: 5b

Preach The Word! Declare The Gospel!

2 Timothy 4:1, “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

The commission of Christ is one that we must accept individually and collectively as the Church. So today, we have either embraced His call or settled for something less than complete surrender. Without total abandon for Christ, we introduce the arm of the flesh into a spiritual body. The result is the creation of a humanistic social order rather than the Body of Jesus Christ. Jesus will reach the world through a Spirit filled, Spirit inspired and Spirit empowered Church. Our success will be determined by how well we have followed His instructions. It is for this reason that I offer this prayer for all engaged in the Harvest of souls.

Lord, You have given me such an enormous responsibility. That which I accept willingly. However, I realize how much I am dependent upon you. I feel the helplessness of this frail human soul. I ask you in all humility to cause me to rise to the task. I need your intervention in every effort with every step I take. Open my heart to Your Holy Spirit! Help me to hear your voice. I don't want to miss your cue. Help me to be ever aware of where I am and where you are. I need your abiding presence every step of this journey. I can't go without your direction, approval and support. I don't want to be sounding brass and tinkling cymbal. I want to speak your WORD. Your WORD will go forth with power and authority. Your WORD will convict hearts and change lives. Your WORD will prepare our hearts for eternity.

Father, I pray for the Church, Your Church. Help us to cast off the works of this human flesh. Help us to return to the days of old where we walked in the power of Your Holy Spirit. Renew in us an intense desire to experience a fresh wind of Your Spirit. Burn away the sin and selfishness that we embrace so easily. Help us to see ourselves as You see us. Help us to be void of our own agenda and to know and execute Your will daily in our lives. Help us to see vividly that Your cause is most important and our goals are secondary, subject to what You desire. Purge us and wash us clean of all our human ambitions and replace them with Your high and lofty goals. Fill us up with Your person that there is no room for ME. Father we offer this prayer in the name of Your precious Son, Jesus. Amen!”
