OH GOD! I'm Coming Home!

Today I am thinking especially of this nation, the United States of America. Since it's foundation, this nation has been blessed of God. He has nurtured and parented our precious democracy from its infancy. I am convinced that He has done so because of the principles of freedom to worship and follow God. In the beginning we were united as a nation under the principles of God's law with the freedom to serve Him according to the dictates of one's own heart.

That America does not exist anymore. It is only a memory passing swiftly into history. Rather than embracing the influence of God and the Bible in our governance, America has chosen her own path, charting a course devoid of the leadership of God. Any reference to God in the affairs of the nation has been frowned upon if not expressly forbidden. I believe that God has taken the hint. I think He has gotten the message that He has not been wanted in America. So, He has left us to own devices, creating our problems and finding our solutions. Therefore, as with all governance void of the influence of God, we are headed for a tragic end.

However, we must not proceed along this path any further. We hold the future of this great Republic in our hands! God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” God’s declaration was in response to the prayer of Solomon at the dedication of the new Temple. In the preceding verses, God had renewed His covenant with David’s son, Solomon and confirmed to Solomon, v.12 “...I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.” Affirming yet once more that if Israel walked in His statutes, He would be their God and they would be His people. In v.13, He assured His people, “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;” if they would humble themselves and seek His direction, He would hear their prayers and guide them to their deliverance.

That is where we are in this nation. God is giving us an opportunity to seek His direction and follow His leading. Now is the time to come together and pray. Now is the time to lay aside the ideals that may divide us and allow God to give us the solution to our dilemma. God has the right answer and it is of eternal consequence. My prayer today is that the Holy Spirit would blow upon this nation and as the wind moves the mighty oak, that Americans as one collective body would bow low in convicted repentance. I ask God to break the obstinate rebellion that has seized the mind, heart and soul of so many. Bring America to her knees once again for it is there that we will find our true purpose in God's plan. OH GOD! We’re Coming Home!

The words of an old song comes to mind, “I have returned to the God of my father, Creator of heaven and earth, God of the universe; He's Jesus to me, Eternal Deity; Praise His name, I have returned.” I have included the address for the entire song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhpxcDeA0E4. OH GOD! Save Us!

As I gaze out my window, I am reminded of how good and how great God is. The earth with all its beauty was created by Him. He spoke the words and all things were created. The glory of it all is incomprehensible except by the Spirit of God. He must open our eyes to the totality of all that God has placed in our world. Help us Lord to search and find. Help us to see all your beauty and glory. My mind, my heart, my spirit stands in awe of the wonder of His creation.

In contrast, the picture of this world is catastrophic. What man has done to the glory of God's creative masterpiece is a shame and disgrace. How can we sincerely ask God to bless the mess that man has created? I simply pray, “God, show us your love, show us your grace, show us your mercy.” Just as the wind bends the mighty oak tree and its leaves and branches yield completely to the strength of the wind, may the Holy Spirit of God cause the world, the nations to bow in convicted repentance. God move us by your Holy Spirit to yield to your will and your way. Bring us to a convicted repentance! Oh God! Save us!

Isaiah 1:18, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

Thy Kingdom Come! by Myra Boozer

Mark 1:15 “...The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

This morning, I would love to feed all the hungry...wrap my arms around the broken and mend them. I would love to wipe the tears from all the lonely and crushed...mend the bruised and battered...release those who are in bondage by the enemy...set the captives free...hold all the babies that are unwanted...care for all the elderly who are forsaken...heal every sickness and diseased person on the face of the earth...stop every evil and depraved thought that enters the mind of the youth...I would guard them from all evil. I would mend every marriage and bring every family into unity with God...strengthen every person who shares the Word of God and give them HOPE of many souls being saved, delivered and set free. I would love to do all this! I am limited but JESUS is NOT! I can share JESUS and He can do this for all who will REPENT and BELIEVE!

I WOULD SHUT THE MOUTH OF THE LIONS THAT ARE TRYING TO DEVOUR ALL WHO ARE GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS...I WOULD STOP ALL THE LIES AND CORRUPTION OF THE EVIL AND EGOTISTIC WHO ARE HUNGRY FOR STATUS IN THIS WORLD...I WOULD BIND EVERY EVIL SPIRIT THAT RAISES ITS UGLY HEAD AGAINST HUMANITY...I WOULD SHUT DOWN ALL THE PLACES THAT OFFER ENTICEMENT TO THOSE WHO ARE WEAK AND UNSTABLE...I WOULD STOP MURDER, HATE, AND EVERY ABOMINATION ... I WOULD STOP ALL FALSE TEACHINGS AND DOCTRINES OF DEVILS...I WOULD BRING ABOUT A NEW WORLD WHERE THE LAMB WILL LAY DOWN WITH THE LION...BUT I AM LIMITED! BUT JESUS IS NOT! JESUS WILL DO ALL THIS WHEN HE COMES RIDING ON THE WHITE HORSE WITH FIRE IN HIS EYES, WEARING MANY CROWNS...HIS NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD...HE SHALL RULE WITH A ROD OF IRON. HE WILL PUT EVERY THING IN ITS PROPER PLACE...we are getting closer and closer to that DAY!

Except You Repent, You Will Perish!

Luke 13:1, “There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

In this passage, Jesus issued a call to repentance! His attention was directed toward the sin of all men. Evidently there were some worshipers from Galilee who had been killed by Roman soldiers while they offered up their sacrifices in the temple. They were not worse sinners because this happened to them. The issue is that God had presented them with a new testament or new covenant in Jesus Christ. The new covenant requires repentance for sins and turning to a new life in Christ. God promised through the writings of the Prophets that their Deliverer would come in His time. Luke acknowledged this in the book of Acts.

Acts 3:18, “But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”

The prophecies by Old Testament prophets concerning the coming of Jesus Christ and what He would suffer were fulfilled perfectly. Jesus was crucified and rose from the grave becoming victorious over death. His disciples saw Him ascend into the heavens where He sits at the right hand of the Father. He will remain there until the time of the "restitution of all things." Then the prophecies concerning His Second Coming with be fulfilled perfectly just as the First Advent.

We are near the “restitution of all things.” The stage is set and the players are taking their places. God is moving the course of human events to the culmination of this age. Current events are a testimony to where we are as we approach the final curtain.

My prayer is that God will open our eyes to understanding the significance of current events and reveal to the Body of Christ the urgency of His message. The world is doomed to eternal darkness except they turn to Jesus Christ in repentance. “Repent ye therefore...” Acts 3:19

OH GOD! Break These Chains!

My cry is that God would put us in a place of remorse where we can identify with the utter hopelessness and struggle of the present human condition. Jesus looked upon the crowds that followed him and was moved with compassion because they were sheep without a shepherd. Help us Lord Jesus to look upon mankind with the same love, the same concern, the same intervention reflected in your example before us. The lost of the world are condemned to death and we can offer them the good news of Jesus' saving grace.

Joel's cry was to the elect, the chosen of God, His beloved. We must sound the alarm in Zion. Can we truly feel that we have obeyed God completely when there is such a great need in the Church? A need for our altars to be filled with saint and sinner alike seeking God for divine revelation and divine intervention. Haven't we realized by now that we cannot pilot this ship without Him? We need and must have a fresh wind of Holy Ghost power. We must return to Pentecost and receive anew the anointing power of the Holy Spirit. Then we can become actively engaged in the harvest of eternal souls.

Let us all cry out with the priests of God, "Spare the people, Oh Lord..." Joel's petition was to entreat God to deliver His people, not because they deserved it but for His own glory. Lord restore your reputation in your Church. Let it be said that the Lord of Glory dwells among His people.

God's presence among His people struck fear in the hearts of their enemies. They trembled in fear because they had learned that God secured the victory. They could not win against the Lord God of Israel. When Israel followed God they could not be defeated.

God's presence in the Church strikes fear in the heart of Satan. He trembles in fear in the presence of God. He is well acquainted with the power of almighty God. He knows when the Church follows God, we cannot be defeated. May God manifest Himself us and through us. Through His abiding presence, we will throw off the encumbrances that have silently crept in. Throw off the doubt that has slipped in due to a lack of seeing His manifest presence in the Church. Break the chains of oppression that have gripped us due to the lack of freedom in the Holy Ghost. Throw off the cloud of ignorance that has anesthetized us because of the lack of hearing a fresh Word from the Lord. Wake us O' Lord to the full measure of your truth. We will not be content with only the similitude of truth. Baptize us in your TRUTH. Immerse us in the revelation of your person. Let us everyone put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Run For Your Life!

I recently heard a sermon by this title delivered by Pastor Carter Conlon, lead pastor of the Times Square Church in New York City. He preached this sermon on Sunday after the horrific attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001. I believe that is was then a WORD from God and is still applicable to the Church today, some 15 years later. I have included a link here to the full sermon. (youtube.com/watch?v=1YDvuBAczXY&feature=share).

I was so moved by this message that I feel the urgency to share an excerpt from my book, “The Message: A Critical Review of End Time Events.” The Church of Jesus Christ stands at a pivotal point in our commission for the completion of the last days harvest. Our response to the call of God will bear directly upon the salvation of souls. Will I be responsible for souls being lost that could have been saved had I been obedient to the prompting of the Holy Ghost? That is the eternal question!

Joel 2:15, "Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16.Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?"

Joel repeated the call of 2:1. The difference here is a call to national repentance to be performed in a national gathering of all the people before God. The priests were to proclaim a day of humiliation for all the people regardless of age or distinction. Joel summons all ranks and classes to assemble in the Temple for this solemn service.

Sanctify the people! The people were to prepare themselves for this solemn time. Under the Law, they were to wash themselves and their clothes. They were commanded to cleanse themselves from all impurities, to have offered sacrifice for all transgressions of the Law. To be obedient was to be purged and made worthy to be presented before the Lord in His house.

Assemble the elders, children, babies. No one should be excluded. Even the bride and the bridegroom were to delay their festivities for this solemn assembly. Everything must stop and all attention to focus on the Lord of glory.

The priests, the ministers of the Lord were commanded to take the lead in this sacred work of penitence. They are compelled by the greatness of the national trespass to stand weeping and praying between the porch and the altar. It was here in the open court that the priest, with his face toward the inner court and the altar, that he turned his petition toward God in supplication for the sins of the people.

As I read this text, I cannot help but think what would happen if God's people would approach God with the same intensity as was required here. Such fervency that would drive us all to our knees in convulsive groans of agony for the needs of the lost and Christ's Church alike. I am reminded of Jesus' encounter with the weight of His destiny as He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. "And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." Luke 22:44. Is not our destiny just as relevant? He (Christ) has given us as the Body of Christ the urgent task to carry the message of deliverance to all creation. Do we not languish in such a state of national trespass in desperate need of the sacred work of penitence? God help us to fall helplessly into His embrace and become an example and instrument of His salvation and deliverance. God send your fire among us. May the Holy Spirit set us ablaze that we will never be the same. Change us Lord into what you desire us to become. Make us instruments of your salvation.” (The Message, p143-144) There is a change coming! Are we willing to be changed?

Jesus' Love Pulls Back The Veil!

I began this day as I do every day in the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ. I see that His love abounds everywhere even in the areas of our world that appear to be dominated by sin. His love is there which transcends all obstacles and penetrates into the most remote and isolated crevices of life. Every area of human existence is held in the shelter of His hand.

Your need and my need is laid bare before Him. He knows where we are, what we feel and what we dream. He sees each despairing thought and feels the anguish that we feel. He identifies with every human experience and emotion that has and will touch our lives. He left His throne in glory, took upon Himself the form of human flesh so He can tell you today, “I have been where you are and I feel what you feel.” He experienced the human condition in the fullest sense yet without sin. Heb. 4:15, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

He is saying to the whole human race, “I understand, I have made a way out. Believe on me as the scripture has said and you are free.” You may feel trapped in a place you don't want to be. Give it to Jesus. He will make a way of escape for you. Trust Him! He knows the way. He is the WAY. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Look to Him and live!
