Luke
11:11, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father,
will he give him a stone?...”
As
Christians, what do we have to give to a desperate and pain-ridden
world? What do we have to offer the starving, the lost, the dying
humanity all around us? Can we observe the horrific battle that takes
place in our presence each and every day? Do we see the joyless faces
among us, the empty stares, the emptiness of soul?
Where
has their light gone? Proverbs 15:30, “The light of the eyes
rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.” The
condition of the heart and soul shines through the eyes but may not
be evident to the casual observer. Can we be more than a casual
observer or will we continue with business as usual? Can we see
precious souls in the conflict of their lives and be an instrument
for their Divine encounter? True ministry, Holy Spirit ministry will
always include a Divine encounter otherwise it is only an expression
of religious habit!
Jesus
said in John 6:32, “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I
say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my
Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God
is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And
Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me
shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
The spiritually emaciated world is in need of the Living Bread! What
then shall we do? We will give them the true Bread of Life. We will
give them Jesus! (continued)
