What Would You Have Me Do?

Acts 9:6, “And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”

Saul was on his way to Damascus with documents to imprison followers of Jesus Christ. This text recounts Saul’s response to his Divine Encounter with Jesus on the road that day. Saul had his own objective but God had a different path planned for him. It took Divine Revelation to change him and the direction he was going. Confronted with the Divine Presence of Christ, his response was, “What would you have me do?” We would do well to seek God for the same attitude of submission that we could proclaim, “Lord Jesus, what would you have me do?”

God help us to yearn for His Divine Presence and the Revelation of His Truth! Lord Jesus, open our hearts, our minds, our souls to hear your voice today! We need your revelation of your plan. We are not seeking a fleshly understanding of mortal research. We are seeking Divine revelation of the Word of God. The same revelation the Old Testament prophets experienced as they walked in obedience and depended upon the impartation of your instruction and anointing to bring a relevant Word of God to the people of God. The same revelation that the New Testament apostles experienced as you called them out and set them apart to be your voice for your message to a world in crisis, lost, without hope except for Jesus' sacrifice. Holy Spirit take charge of this mortal flesh! Lead us along the correct path to receiving God's revelation and understanding of the Word relevant to where we are today. We are not seeking insight built upon human understanding because that is empty and fruitless. The revelation of your truth passes all human understanding far above this world's knowledge. The hope of our heart and our soul's desire is to receive and impart your truth. Your truth delivers the sin sick soul, frees the shackled and heals the wounded heart. Lord, revive your Word afresh in our souls and lead us to those in need. Lead us Lord and we will follow where ever you open up the door.

A Life Lived Well!

When I come to the end of life’s journey, what will await me? Will my life have been lived well or just be a life spent, consumed, exhausted, used up? Will I just be a worn out specimen of human flesh or will I take on the eternal nature of Jesus Christ?

The choice of how we finish our life is left up to us! We choose eternity by how we choose to live each day of our lives. Are our thoughts and activities focused on our passion for Jesus or our passion for the things of this world?

The song “Give Me Jesus,” by Danny Gokey says:

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

You can have all this world

Just give me Jesus

When I come to die

When I come to die

Oh, when I come to die

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

You can have all this world

Just give me Jesus

The choice is ours! Let the love and passion of Jesus Christ capture your heart, soul and mind. Walk with Him today and you will walk with Him in eternity. Oh! Give me Jesus. You can have all this world, just give me Jesus.

It's Harvest Time!

John 4:35, “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”

2 Cor. 6:2, “...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” The Message Bible states it this way, “Well, now is the right time to listen, the day to be helped.”

Today as I enter into a time of prayer and meditation, my heart is heavy for the lost souls of this world. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer to the needs in every persons life. All men need to hear and respond to the message of redemption and freedom in Christ. Jesus commissioned the Church with the responsibility and privilege of sharing the Gospel message with the world. Matt. 28:18, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

The message of Jesus Christ is the light of pure redemption shining forth in a world filled with darkness. The Body of Christ is entrusted to carry this message of deliverance to all the world. All repented sin is forgiven in the Gospel! All human weakness is given strength in the Gospel! All chains of bondage are broken in the Gospel! All the poor receive the Good News in the Gospel! All the broken hearts are healed in the Gospel! All the captives are delivered in the Gospel! All the blind receive their sight in the Gospel! All the bruised are given liberty in the Gospel! All the burdened and battered are set free in the Gospel! The Gospel is the Good News of the delivering power of Jesus Christ through His shed blood. Jesus became the sacrifice for the sins of all man kind. Through His sacrifice we are delivered from sin and sin’s punishment.

In Matt. 28:18, Jesus states that He has all power. It is the exaltation of our Lord Jesus, having overcome death, hell and the grave that is emphasized here. When the Father awoke Him from death, the humiliation of flesh came to an end. At the resurrection He entered into heavenly glory. The limited conditions of the human life were removed. Therefore, He could say, “all power is given unto me...” He possessed in His glorified nature absolute power to procure all things necessary to establish His Kingdom. In union with the Father, He was free from all limitations.

Why is that important? In the very next verse, Jesus outlines the task of those that remain to carry the Gospel to all nations. “Go ye therefore...” doing what He had done, saving the lost, healing the sick, teaching to observe all the things that Jesus had taught. And because He had all power, He anointed with power to accomplish the commission given. He validated this fact by, “I am with you always.” The Christ with all power promised to always be with His disciples in every generation. (continued)

Treasures Of The Heart! by Myra Boozer

Proverbs 2:1, “My son, (or Daughter) if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, 2 Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; 3 For if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding; 4 If you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.” NASB

The things that I love and hold dear to my heart are just borrowed they're not mine at all... Jesus only let me use them to brighten my life...So remind me, remind me dear Lord. The words of an old song hold true today. I have loved and held many things close to my heart for I have had so many blessings and material goods. No, I am not wealthy compared to some. But compared to others, I am. I have had my share of the comforts of life...not extravagant things but enjoyable things...some have been very useful and some just pretty to look at and some just plain and simple little treasures... But things are just that...they are “Things,” things that can be replaced if lost or stolen. Because they are disposable and transferable, they are things.

Sometimes things get in the way of what is important. They can become too meaningful and take our time and energy away from what really counts...I am learning to lay them down...day by day they are losing their value to me. I have been letting them go from my heart for some time now because I will not take them with me. They have served their purpose thus far and I am very thankful for all I have been given to enjoy along the way.

I have always tried to keep my head straight as for how I spend our money. I have tried to be very saving and practical... you know the bargain hunter kind of person. But even at a bargain the “things” you have can become a part of you. You become familiar with them and they sometimes become “treasures.” They may not be worth much to anyone else but you. They are special to you. Well, I have had lots of those special things hidden away in old hat boxes or the dresser drawers and in closets...even under the beds. Things I have saved from our only little boy...baby clothes...little cars and things he saved thru the years...things that make you smile, like a costume I made him for his 1st grade play...pictures he drew of his house, family and the neighbors dog. The dog stayed at our house because he loved it so much. You know “treasures” that I don’t plan on throwing out...but my heart is letting go.

I think I understand what the purpose is for letting go. It isn’t wrong to have things but it is wrong for things to have us. When what we have and what we do is all about things...and we just want to live on and on so we can secure and protect our treasures...we need to release them. There are no U-hauls going to heaven. I don’t want the tears that are wiped away from my eyes to be about the “things” I have accumulated. I want to leave all that behind.

1 John 2:15, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world...” I am letting go! The greatest treasures I have are my precious Family, My Relationship with the Lord and My understanding of His Word. I celebrate the fact that He died, that I might live and that has nothing to do with “things.” That is my greatest treasure!! And, that my friend, I must hold on too for ever and NEVER LET GO. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matt. 6:21

It's Time To Come Home!

In the book of Luke, chapter 15, a certain man had two sons. The youngest of them decided he wanted to go out and make his mark in the world. So he took his portion of his father’s goods and went away into a far country. There he wasted his inheritance in riotous living. “And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want,” Luke 15:14. He found himself living with pigs for no one would give to him. However, it was while he suffered in those deplorable conditions that he came to himself. Luke 15:17, “And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. 20 And he arose, and came to his father.”

In that terrible place and demeaning position he began to think about home and the pleasant memories of serving in his father's house. He came to his right senses saying, “I will arise and go to my father...” v17. His sense of guilt and remorse brought him to a state of repentance making him willing to be a servant in his father's house. He left his deplorable life and returned to his father. His father received him with open arms declaring, “...my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry,” v.24.

It’s time to come home! It doesn’t matter where you are or how deplorable your life. Your Father stands waiting with His arms open ready to welcome you home. Come on home son or daughter! Your provision is in the Father’s house!

It’s time to come home! Time is running out! The signs of our time are pointing to the consummation of all things. The world stage is set for Satan's last stand. The spirit of Antichrist is moving all the players into their positions. Demonic powers are running rampant. The world population is following the deception like sheep to the slaughter. Because the nations have rejected the influence of the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit, God has left them to their own devices to the destruction of their societal structure.

There are few voices to warn the nations when “danger” should be shouted from every mountain top. God is preparing the whole world for the last phase. The last phase will be the “new world order,” or “one world order.” The spirit of Antichrist is energized by the spirit of darkness. We know from Scripture that Satan’s goal is one world government and one world religion.

Individual liberties are being destroyed and control relegated to the powers that be...governments, local, state, national and international. The stage is set and the players are moving into place. We can not change what is coming, only our response to it. The sin of the world hastens the coming judgment. Let the watchman on the wall cry aloud as the enemy approaches. In doing so he will save himself and all that will hear him.

Rev. 22:17, “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

Are You Ready To Engage The Enemy?

1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

The devil is a wild animal going about seeking to devour. He is attempting to destroy everything and everyone associated with God. The spirit of Antichrist is becoming stronger as each day passes. The verdict of the world community is the destruction of everything affiliated with Jesus Christ. This is the rise of the last days influence of Satan setting the stage for the beast in the prophecy of Daniel in the Old Testament and in the prophecy of John in the book of Revelation.

This is not a new conflict. The forces of good and evil have been embroiled in battle since Lucifer's original rebellion in heaven. God could not allow him to continue in his angelic role in his rebellious state. Therefore, he was cast out of heaven and became the prince of darkness, ruler of the darkness of this world. Consequently, all humanity has been thrust into the midst of this ageless conflict beginning with original man and affecting every generation since.

The conflict has manifest itself through the centuries with an ebb and flow of severity. However, the consequences of the conflict can be directly related to the rebellion of man against the laws and sovereignty of God. Although times of evil and darkness have gripped the earth in centuries past, the grand finale is still to come. Satan is preparing for his last stand. He knows his end and will do everything in his power to destroy all he can. He has targeted world governments, world leaders, Christian leaders, Christian churches, families and individual Christians. His goal is to destroy order and control. He wants to create total chaos.

We find ourselves fully engaged in this timeless struggle. Paul stated in Ephesians 6:12 that we are fighting a warfare in the spiritual realm, against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We are fighting for our very lives, our children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors and as many as our Lord God shall call. But we know how the story ends and that is our hope. God did not allow the original rebellion to go unpunished and He will address it again in the end.

The course of human history is directly related to the willingness of mankind to seek after and follow the sovereign will of God. We can make that observation in relation to the current state of human affairs. In recent years we have seen a digression from Biblical morals and values and a more rapid deviation from Biblical principles in the past decade. This behavior has brought us to where we are as a world community and as a nation. The consequences of rebellion will rule eternity. How we respond to the voice of God will determine our future and the future of all who will hear us. Sound the alarm!!!

OH GOD! I'm Coming Home!

Today I am thinking especially of this nation, the United States of America. Since it's foundation, this nation has been blessed of God. He has nurtured and parented our precious democracy from its infancy. I am convinced that He has done so because of the principles of freedom to worship and follow God. In the beginning we were united as a nation under the principles of God's law with the freedom to serve Him according to the dictates of one's own heart.

That America does not exist anymore. It is only a memory passing swiftly into history. Rather than embracing the influence of God and the Bible in our governance, America has chosen her own path, charting a course devoid of the leadership of God. Any reference to God in the affairs of the nation has been frowned upon if not expressly forbidden. I believe that God has taken the hint. I think He has gotten the message that He has not been wanted in America. So, He has left us to own devices, creating our problems and finding our solutions. Therefore, as with all governance void of the influence of God, we are headed for a tragic end.

However, we must not proceed along this path any further. We hold the future of this great Republic in our hands! God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” God’s declaration was in response to the prayer of Solomon at the dedication of the new Temple. In the preceding verses, God had renewed His covenant with David’s son, Solomon and confirmed to Solomon, v.12 “...I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.” Affirming yet once more that if Israel walked in His statutes, He would be their God and they would be His people. In v.13, He assured His people, “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;” if they would humble themselves and seek His direction, He would hear their prayers and guide them to their deliverance.

That is where we are in this nation. God is giving us an opportunity to seek His direction and follow His leading. Now is the time to come together and pray. Now is the time to lay aside the ideals that may divide us and allow God to give us the solution to our dilemma. God has the right answer and it is of eternal consequence. My prayer today is that the Holy Spirit would blow upon this nation and as the wind moves the mighty oak, that Americans as one collective body would bow low in convicted repentance. I ask God to break the obstinate rebellion that has seized the mind, heart and soul of so many. Bring America to her knees once again for it is there that we will find our true purpose in God's plan. OH GOD! We’re Coming Home!

The words of an old song comes to mind, “I have returned to the God of my father, Creator of heaven and earth, God of the universe; He's Jesus to me, Eternal Deity; Praise His name, I have returned.” I have included the address for the entire song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhpxcDeA0E4.
