Many
are living in great misery or distress tonight because of what is
going on in our world. I have read there are fires in California,
Oregon, Washington state, and in many countries. Alberta is on fire,
Greece, Brazil, Portugal, Algeria and many others. These fires are
destroying homes, properties, jobs, everything in its path.
Texas
and Florida has been flooded and the misery will go on for a long
long time in these areas because people have lost EVERYTHING. Where
do they start? Not hundreds but thousands upon thousands of people
are in distress NOW. Sierra Leone and Niger have experienced massive
floods, mudslides and deaths by the thousands. Then Northern
California continues to bake in the triple digit temp. Earthquakes
have hit Idaho, Japan and Mexico. The news stated that North Korea
has fired its 6th Missile over Japan and into the Pacific. Wars and
rumors of wars are on the rise.
These
are days of TRIBULATION. No I didn't say, THE GREAT TRIBULATIONS but
I did say Tribulation. The meaning of this word is great misery or
distress. You, may not be feeling it but you can be sure those who
are in its clutches do! Jesus said in John 16:33, "These things
I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world
ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the
world.”
The
New Testament Church went through much tribulation. Paul said in his
letter to the Church at Thessalonica, 1 Thess. 3:1, “Wherefore when
we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens
alone;” Then in 1 Thess. 3:4, "For verily, when we were with
you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation, even as it
came to pass, and ye know." Yes people, our world is in
tribulations just like Jesus said.
Jesus
also told us in Matthew 24:21, "For THEN shall be great
tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this
time, no, nor ever shall be." So things will become worse than
what is happening NOW...much worse. This is why we are constantly
urging everyone to have a personal and vital relationship with Jesus
Christ because those who do not are going to suffer not only the
Great Tribulations but also the wrath of God. We have a great promise
in 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, "For God hath not appointed us to
WRATH, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for
us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him,
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as
also ye do."
I
read today the most dangerous lie of Satan is not "there is no
God" or "there is no hell" but that "THERE IS NO
HURRY.” Remember Satan is a liar from the beginning!
