Paul
had his time of revelation as did other followers of God. Elijah is
another example of the sustaining power of revelation from God.
Elijah had his moment when he thought all was lost, he was all alone,
and there was no hope to proceed further. But God had all under
control.
1
Kings 19:11, “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount
before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and
strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before
the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an
earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12And after the
earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the
fire a still small voice. 13And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that
he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the
entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him,
and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?”
We
need to have our personal “Elijah moment.” We must have Our
Intimate Encounter with God in Christ Jesus. Everyone must have their
Elijah moment, and must find that still small voice experience. We
must hear what God is saying. Although Elijah was in the final phase
of his life, this encounter with God changed his future. Here he was
thinking that his cause was lost, everyone had deserted him and the
battle was over but God was not finished with him.
We
are in the final season of time and the hour of our deliverance is at
hand but the climax, the crescendo, the grand finale is still to
come. By faith in God we will inherit our promised end, and by
obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will give ourselves
to the consummation of all things. (continued), The Message, p.23,
