The
Truth of God’s redemptive grace is exercised in the gift and
sacrifice of His Son Jesus, our Messiah. Why would God make such a
sympathetic offering? The answer lies in the text of John 3:16, “For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on
him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither
cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that
doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest,
that they are wrought in God.” All that desire the Truth will
navigate toward the Light of God, make the necessary adjustments in
the strength of Jesus Christ and walk in His Truth.
We
are born into this life carrying this enormous burden called “sin.”
The entire human race was plunged into a state of sin due to the
disobedience of our mother and father, Adam and Eve. They fell for
the Serpent’s temptation and ate of the forbidden fruit. God placed
a curse upon the earth because of their disobedience. Genesis 3:14,
“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done
this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the
field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the
days of thy life: 15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,
and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt bruise his heel. 16Unto the woman he said, I will greatly
multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring
forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall
rule over thee. 17And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened
unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I
commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the
ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of
thy life; 18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee;
and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19In the sweat of thy face
shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it
wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
God
has included all under sin that He might offer a remedy. Galatians
3:22, “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the
promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that
believe...26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ
Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one
in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed,
and heirs according to the promise.” (to be continued)
